Welcome to Radforth Maths & Physics. Based in Mansfield, I provide dedicated one-to-one Mathematics and Physics tuition across KS3 and GCSE. With 15 years of classroom teaching experience, Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and full DBS clearance, I work closely with students in the comfort of their own homes to build essential skills, close learning gaps and restore lasting confidence.
A passion for inspiring confidence in Maths and Physics
I stepped into teaching after a career change and quickly discovered how rewarding it is to help young people understand concepts they previously found daunting. Learning new fields myself taught me the profound importance of patience, perseverance and discovering diverse ways to explain challenging ideas. Over the past 15 years, seeing the tangible difference dedicated teaching makes has kept that passion alive. I take immense satisfaction in guiding students from confusion to clarity, replacing anxiety with self-belief whether they are working towards grade improvements or tackling goals they once felt were out of reach.
A supportive, calm approach to every session
Anxious or struggling learners need a calm, non-judgemental space where mistakes are welcomed as vital stepping stones to progress. During each home visit, I begin at a comfortable level, identifying gaps naturally without creating the pressure of a test. Difficult topics are broken down into manageable, logical steps accompanied by guided practice. By tailoring the pace, examples and challenge to every individual and celebrating steady wins, I help students become truly self-reliant, capable and confident learners.

Beyond holding Qualified Teacher Status and comprehensive DBS clearance, I bring 15 years of classroom teaching experience across KS3 and KS4 Mathematics, Physics and Science. Having prepared students for both Foundation and Higher Tier GCSEs, I know exactly what exam boards expect and how to foster robust exam technique. Rather than merely assisting with homework, I use diagnostic pedagogical skills to spot misconceptions swiftly and tailor explanations that click, supporting students working for top grades as well as those working to secure a solid pass.
